During February 1970 two Navy recruiters were forcibly removed from the Portland State University student building, Smith Memorial Center, by four PSU students: Maureen Grey, Ilenya Fenjo, John Wolfe, and Lynn B. Meyer. Later, a college French professor, Dr. Frank Stearns Giese, was charged in the dynamite bombings of Navy and Army recruiting centers. He was a captain in Naval Intelligence during World War Two.

  1. Dr. Frank Giese was a character witness at the Portland State University Student/Faculty Hearing Committee in 1970 for the four students convicted of violating student protest guidelines. He testified that the students actions were justified because of the "evils of US Imperialism."

  4. High level informants were not at PSU until their infiltration during the May 1970 student strike. Infiltration by other full time police moles occurred during Peoples Army Jamboree (gateways).
